Blusu balle

Blusu balle

21. March 2026 18:00
foyer of the Ģertrūdes street theater
"Blusu balle” Festival or "Flea party", taking place in Riga, invites you to a two-day adventure of dance and music! Here, traditions meet fresh new influences, and everyone can find their own favorite rhythm. Just like at a flea market, hidden treasures will shine - from well-known melodies to exciting new discoveries that will inspire both dancers and musicians alike.

The aim of the event is to strengthen the dance tradition in Riga and to broaden the usual dance repertoire - so that alongside well known couple dances, also polkas, waltzes, and balfolk (dance style that is known across Europe and is gradually gaining recognition also in Latvia) dances can come alive. The festival will feature a vibrant and diverse lineup of musicians: from Latvia “Brička”, Rolands Zelčs and "Rahu trio", as well as “Feather and Fox” from Belgium/Germany - each bringing their own sound, instruments, and energy to inspire dancers of all experience levels.

“Blusu balle” is a socially open and inclusive event, warmly welcoming everyone - from experienced dancers to those taking their very first steps on the dance floor. Dance workshops will help you learn the basics, while the evening parties will invite you to simply enjoy the music and the joy of movement. It’s not about how much you know - it’s about coming, moving, and enjoying being together.

As part of the festival, a warm-up event with "Feather and Fox" will take place on March 20 (tickets available separately at the entrance).
On March 21, dance workshops will be held at 11:00 and 13:00 in the White Hall of the Riga Central School of Arts and Crafts, while the evening ball will begin at 18:00 at the Gertrude Street Theatre.

The ticket allows entrance for two dance workshops and dance evening on 21st of March.
