„El Mars is jamming somewhere between singer/songwriter folk and alternative rock, but the various influences are factors that make „Mind Heroes” an interesting and pleasant listen. There’s jazzy guitars showing their face („Wise Man”), tangly country feel enjoying it’s time under the sun („Pacific”) and even little trip to unknown territory of fascinating South-American rhythms („Traveller”). On the other hand, alt-country tune „Dancing on Crutches” should make tinkle all those who enjoy Songs Ohia, Silver Jews and Smog. „Mind Heroes” has potential to be as depressing as Bonnie ‚Prince’ Billy who probably has this masterplan to leave you on the verge of suicide after every time you listen to his songs.
